Track what you watch. If something's off, here's the short list of answers — and a real person on the other end of the email.
Frequently asked questions
Does watchlog need an account?
No — there's nothing to sign up for. Your library lives entirely on your phone, which is also why there's no password to forget.
How do I back up my library or move it to a new phone?
Open the Stats tab and tap Export — you get a JSON file with your whole library. Save it anywhere you like (Files, iCloud Drive, wherever), then use Import on the Stats tab of the new phone. Imports only ever add; they never remove or unmark anything.
Where does the show and film information come from?
Titles, artwork and air dates come live from TMDB, with TVmaze as a fallback. Where-to-watch availability is supplied by JustWatch via TMDB. If something's missing or wrong, it's usually upstream — but email us and we'll chase it.
I'm not getting new-episode notifications.
Reminders are scheduled on your phone (no servers involved), so first check iOS Settings → Notifications → watchlog is allowed. Each show also has its own bell on the detail screen — make sure it's on for the show you're waiting for. Reminders only fire for shows with announced air dates.
Does watchlog work offline?
Your library, your history and your stats are all on the device, so browsing and marking episodes work with no connection. Searching for something new, or refreshing a show's details, needs the internet — that information comes from TMDB.
What leaves my phone?
Your library itself stays put, but to keep titles and air dates current the app asks TMDB about specific titles — including the ones you track. Nothing is sent to us; we have no server. The privacy policy sets out exactly what goes where.
