Frequently asked questions

What does the "Rates:" date under a currency conversion mean?

Currency rates are fetched once a day and cached, so the app works offline. The date shows which day's rates your conversion used — European Central Bank reference rates via frankfurter.dev.

It says "Rates not downloaded yet".

Currency needs one connection to fetch its first set of rates. Connect once and they're cached for offline use from then on. Every other category — length, mass, volume and the rest — works with no connection at all, including the very first time.

Why are cooking gram conversions marked ≈?

Because they're honest approximations. Cups and tablespoons measure volume; grams measure weight. The true conversion depends on the ingredient — a cup of flour weighs a lot less than a cup of sugar — so gram results are based on water density and flagged as approximate rather than pretending to a precision they don't have.

Can I type in the result field?

Yes. Both fields are editable, in either direction, and the swap button flips the units.

How do favourites work?

Tap the star to pin the current conversion. Up to 8 pins appear as one-tap buttons under the converter — long-press a button to remove it.

Where is my data stored?

On your phone. Your conversion history (the last 20) and your favourites are saved locally and never sent to us — we have no server and run no analytics. The one exception to "nothing leaves the phone" is the daily exchange-rate download, which is a fixed, anonymous request that carries nothing about you. The privacy policy spells all of it out precisely.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds go through them. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple Account you bought with.
